Successful conclusion of the IMSS Medical Day at UTM

• More than 300 students, teachers and administrative staff attended.

Morelia, Michoacán on July 1, 2022.-  For five days, 307 students, professors and administrative staff of the Technological University of Morelia (UTM) received specialized care from doctors and nurses of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) during the IMSS Medical Conference at UTM.

Graciela Andrade García Peláez, rector of the University, thanked the IMSS team for their support in making students feel loved and that they know that their school is a safe space.

In total, 192 men and 115 women had their glucose levels, body mass index, blood pressure, and Pap smear checked. 

The people who resulted in complications in their state of health were channeled to the corresponding Family Medicine Unit, so that they consider following a treatment that maintains their optimal state of health.

With the support of the Morelia City Council, the Health Directorate provided a nutritional evaluation and a feeding plan corresponding to the patient's objectives, by nutritionists Marco Jaís Sánchez and Adriana González Ramírez.

According to the head of the Department of Health Promotion, Imelda Herrera, this is the first of several actions that the IMSS and the UTM will carry out to unite the academic community and strengthen their health.

Yaritza Kixeth Mejía Sánchez, Ulises Coria Pedraza, María del Carmen Morales Nieto, Ileana Rodríguez García and Angelina Reyes Martínez received recognition for their participation.
