Morelia, Michoacán, January 2, 2023.- The Technological University of Morelia (UTM) will spend 85 million 784 thousand 201 pesos this year, 23 million 546 thousand more than in 2022, a figure that represents an increase in its budget of 37 percent , as reported by the rector Graciela Andrade García Peláez.
He explained that the 2023 budget includes union benefits that have been established through the Collective Bargaining Agreement and reflects the commitment to the Tax System, it also considers the payment of positions that the Government of Michoacán assumes, while the New Structure of the University that was out of standard according to the Audit that was carried out at the UTM in the 2020 Financial Year.
The rector explained that with these actions the UTM guarantees the operation that is required to meet the teaching and service needs and, in turn, project the growth of enrollment.
Graciela Andrade listed the advances to be achieved this 2023: the rehabilitation of the hydraulic and electrical network, the generation of academic spaces for teachers and more classrooms.
He announced that in 2023 the Center for Innovation and Creativity will be consolidated, a space where the participation of Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Multiplatform Software Development, and Virtual Environments and Digital Business students will be articulated.
Finally, he promised to inaugurate shortly the Biotechnology laboratories for the Development of Food Transformation and the Laboratory, and the Food Processes Workshop, which will be used mainly by students of Biotechnology Engineering and the Bachelor's Degree in Gastronomy.
