UTM gastronomy students begin stays in Spain

Morelia, Michoacán, January 23, 2024.- Four Gastronomy students from the Technological University of Morelia (UTM) are in Spain, at the beginning of their stays, as an integral part of the institution's educational model.
In this regard, the rector of the UTM, Graciela C. Andrade García Peláez, pointed out that the students, Cristian Alexis Alvarado Martínez, Daniel Múzquiz Curiel, Diego Vigil Paniagua and Francisco Javier Ramos Loeza, have the practical and theoretical tools necessary to achieve a good performance in the international arena.
“This process, framed within the UTM academic model, comprises 70 percent practice and 30 percent theory, he noted.
The students of the eleventh semester shared their destinations before their departure. Cristian Alexis Alvarado Martínez reported that he is heading to Marbella, Spain, to carry out his internship at the Nintai restaurant, where he will collaborate in processes with two Michelin stars.
He highlighted that the UTM has provided him with the necessary tools to address aspects ranging from administration to creative and international cuisine.
Daniel Múzquiz Curiel expressed his commitment to representing Michoacán and the University on Gran Canaria Island, Spain, at the El Senator Restaurant, while Diego Vigil Paniagua and Francisco Javier Ramos Loeza are in Valencia, Spain, at the El Pelegrí restaurant.
Diego, on his first trip abroad, recognized the institutional effort to leave Mexico and expressed his commitment to playing a worthy role. For his part, Francisco will develop Mediterranean cuisine menus and dishes.
Students will carry out a program that consists of 600 hours, equivalent to 15 weeks. This initiative reflects UTM's firm commitment to the comprehensive training of its students, providing them with opportunities to apply and expand their knowledge in international contexts.
