Morelia, Michoacán, August 19, 2023.- The Technological University of Morelia (UTM) held the graduation ceremony for 32 students who have completed the institution's Foreign Language Program.
Graduates demonstrated their proficiency in the English language through exams that assessed their skills in oral and written production, oral and written comprehension, and grammatical usage.
These tests have been designed to assess language proficiency in accordance with the standards of the Common European Framework for Languages, and students have achieved a B2 level of proficiency in English, equivalent to 740 hours of study.
The rector of the UTM, Graciela C. Andrade, highlighted the importance of mastering English in a globalized context. "Today it is no longer a luxury, but a necessity," he said, adding that the university offers exchange programs abroad and highlighted the relevance of the language as a fundamental requirement to access these opportunities.
During the ceremony, the representative of International House of Cambridge, an international English certifying institution, Eréndira Chipres, emphasized the importance of the achievement achieved by obtaining the B2 level, a nationally recognized accreditation granted by universities. Furthermore, he encouraged graduates to take the next step and obtain international certification in the shortest possible time.
