Morelia, Michoacán on June 25, 2022.- In the 2022-2023 school year, the Technological University of Morelia (UTM) will begin classes at the Zinapécuaro Academic Unit, offering two engineering degrees in Biotechnology and Textile and Fashion Design, in addition to a Bachelor's degree in Gastronomy.
 
Graciela Andrade García Peláez, rector of the UTM explained that this first and new Academic extension corresponds to teamwork with the Zinapécuaro City Council, chaired by Alejandro Correa Gómez.
 
He added that they managed to start a project that responds to the needs of the inhabitants of the region, who after completing their high school education, want to study engineering or a bachelor's degree.
 
García Peláez explained that an investigation was carried out in the municipalities of Charo, Indaparapeo, Queréndaro, Zinapécuaro, Cuitzeo, and Álvaro Obregón to learn about the needs and academic interests of young people and the relevance to work with the social and economic environments.
 
The registration process, he said, will be the same as for those who want to study at the UTM Campus Morelia through the page u-tmorelia.edu.mx, in which the interested party will upload the requested data until the payment for the examination fee is generated for $412.00, an evaluation that will take place on Saturday, July 30 of this year and online, with the possibility of two schedules at 9:00 a.m. and at 3:00 p.m.
 
The Zinapécuaro Academic Unit maintains the four-monthly academic model, without monthly payments and only the investment in registration at the beginning of the 1st. Semester of $1,200.00, in addition to the fact that after two years the student obtains the title of Higher University Technician (TSU) and in 3 years 8 months and the title of Engineer or Bachelor, with 70 percent of practices in workshops, laboratories, stays or Stay.
