Morelia, Michoacán, August 10, 2023.- During the commemoration of its twenty-third anniversary of the Technological University of Morelia (UTM), the rector Graciela Andrade García Peláez, announced advances in student programs, mobility opportunities and significant investments in infrastructure.

In his speech, García Peláez highlighted the commitment of the UTM as a Center for Creativity and Innovation, consolidated as the twelfth Technological University that integrates the prestigious Intelligence Unit at the national level.

The stay abroad programs, with destinations in the United States and Japan, will be a fundamental pillar in the training of UTM students, giving them the opportunity to acquire international knowledge and develop global skills. In addition, the university has garnered recognition at the Michoacán Science Fair, reaching the first four places, demonstrating the academic excellence of its participants.

In an effort to strengthen the student community and promote physical activity, UTM has built a modern 7-a-side soccer field, fostering coexistence and sportsmanship among students.

The vision of the Technological University of Morelia towards sustainability and care for the environment is reflected in its search to obtain the "Green University" certification. To achieve this objective, works have been requested that will contribute to this mission, such as the creation of rainwater collection pots and a treatment plant. In addition, the planting of 300 fruit trees embodies the students' commitment to nature and the sustainable future of the planet.

The 23rd anniversary of the Technological University of Morelia represents a milestone in its constant search for educational excellence, innovation and sustainable development. The works mentioned during this celebration highlight the commitment of the UTM in the training of leaders and professionals trained to face the challenges of the 21st century.
