Morelia, Michoacán, August 10, 2022.- The Technological University of Morelia (UTM) celebrates the XXII anniversary with the authorization of 35 million for the construction of a 2-story building, and 5 million for the equipment of the Academic Unit of the UTM in Zinapécuaro.

In addition, 14.9 million will be for the strengthening of the physical infrastructure of biotechnology-agrobiological area; information technology equipment and the creation of a Center for Creativity and Technological Innovation.

The rector Graciela Andrade García Peláez, explained that in the nine months of work, they have managed to manage resources for 15 million for equipment, hand tools and specialized equipment, such as a transformer, Mac computers, 3D printers, a fabric sublimation printer and an electrical controller training system.

He also said that the management of 20 million from the Ministry of Finance for SHCP liabilities was consolidated; 4.6 million from the Multiple Contributions Fund (FAM) for a food transformation workshop-laboratory, which will strengthen the Biotechnology Engineering academy, with a cold chamber, 4 solar equipment, a conveyor belt for washing and selecting fruits, a finished product quality analysis laboratory.

He said that it was possible to recognize 29 recategorized full-time teaching positions and include 29 academic technician positions in the structure, restructuring the organization chart according to the needs of the University.

With emphasis, the rector recognized the support of the members of SUTUTEM, who agreed to prioritize the best interest of students above any other interest and also accompany and support all academic activities.
