UTM students receive mobility scholarship to travel to Japan

Morelia, Michoacán, June 20, 2024.- Five students from the Technological University of Morelia (UTM) were selected to receive a student mobility scholarship as part of the program of the Institute of Higher and Higher Education of the State of Michoacán (Iemsysem) . The beneficiaries, who study various specialties, will travel from July 1 to 14 to Osaka, Japan.

The selected students are Diego Fernando Cesar Arreguín, from Renewable Energies; Johanna Janet Balderas Alejandre, Information Technology; Gerardo Guzmán Fernández, from Mechatronics, Luis Alfredo Sánchez López, from Industrial Maintenance; and Luis Enrique Cerda Rodríguez, from Mechatronics.

The rector of the Technological University of Morelia, Graciela C. Andrade García Peláez, mentioned that the scholarship of 30 thousand pesos assigned to each student will be used to cover travel expenses and participation in the Japan Innovation and Technology Immersion Program. This support is added to the 70 thousand pesos previously managed by the university, reaching a total of 500 thousand pesos in benefits, allowing students to acquire international academic experiences through the Mirai Innovation Institute.

This mobility program is part of the CIC 4.0 NETWORK, Intelligence and Innovation Strategy Unit 4.0, made up of 15 Technological and Polytechnic Universities such as UT Querétaro, UT Tijuana, UP Cancún, UT del Retoño de Aguascalientes, UT de Toluca, UT de Veracruz, UT of the Central Valleys of Oaxaca and the UT of Morelia.
