Morelia, Michoacán, April 11, 2024.- The delegation of the Technological University of Morelia (UTM) was flagged by its rector Graciela C. Andrade García Peláez, who urged the students to honor the flag and proudly represent their institution at the first Regional Sports and Cultural Meeting of the Technological Subsystem in Xalisco, Nayarit.

Andrade addressed a message to the 36 students who make up the UTM delegation. He asked them to give their maximum effort and represent their university in a dignified manner in the competitions that will be held from June 13 to 15. Students will participate in various disciplines, including men's seven-a-side soccer, men's basketball, men's indoor and beach volleyball, public speaking, chalk mural, and singing.

The event will bring together more than 700 students from 12 universities in region 6, which includes the states of Michoacán, Nayarit, Jalisco and Colima. This is the first time that the Technological and Polytechnic Universities compete together in the same meeting, highlighting the participation of the Technological University of Morelia and the Polytechnic University of Uruapan as representatives of Michoacán.

UTM participants will receive scholarships that cover transportation, lodging, food, refereeing and uniforms, as part of their comprehensive training. This initiative seeks to promote the academic, sports and cultural development of students and coexistence and exchange between educational institutions in the region.

This event is not only a platform to demonstrate sports and cultural skills, but also an opportunity to strengthen ties between educational institutions in the region and promote the comprehensive development of students.
