Morelia, Michoacán, February 15, 2024.- A group of 20 students from the fifth semester of the gastronomy degree at the Technological University of Morelia (UTM) carried out an altruistic action as part of their comprehensive training, in which they donated more than a thousand basket tacos to relatives of patients in three local hospitals.
The activity, carried out within the integrative subject of its curriculum, was carried out at the Civil Hospital, the Women's Hospital and the Children's Hospital. The initiative seeks to support those family members who have hospitalized patients, especially those who come from the interior of the state.
Paulina Hernández Díaz, from the fifth semester, group B of Gastronomy, expressed: “We are donating basket tacos to the relatives of patients at the Women's Hospital as part of our social commitment and responsibility as future professionals in gastronomy.”
The action was planned for a month, in which they reviewed the purchasing logistics, the organization of brigades and committees to guarantee effective execution.
Finally, student Paola Aburto Ponce de León reported that the previous day they began preparing the stews and assembling the tacos to ensure that they arrived hot to the beneficiaries.
