During the Third Ordinary Session of the Linkage and Relevance Council

Morelia, Michoacán, December 7, 2023.- The Technological University of Morelia (UTM) strengthens its connections with productive units by renewing its Linkage and Relevance Council. In the Third Ordinary Session, academic leaders and representatives of the productive sector came together, establishing a stronger commitment between academia and industry, thus consolidating strategic collaboration.

In an effort to further strengthen ties with the productive environment, the renewal of board members was carried out, integrating new collaborators, who have productive units aligned with the careers offered by the UTM, which include Biotechnology, Food Processes, Renewable Energies, Information Technologies, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Design and Fashion, Gastronomy and Cooperative Financial Advisor.

Currently, the UTM has 645 agreements in execution with Productive Units, thus strengthening its commitment to the comprehensive training of its students.

During the event, the rector Graciela C. Andrade García Peláez shared some academic achievements, among them, the first and third place in the UVAQ International Gourmet Bread Cup, the first four places in the Michoacana Science and Engineering Fair (FEMICI ), first and third places in the VEX 2023 International Robotics Championship; and first, second and third place in the State Meeting of Robotics and Technological Development Prototypes.

Highlighting its international projection, UTM participated in the UTQ-UTM 2023 Ambassadors Program, sending three students to Osaka, Japan, and two students to the University of California Riverside Campus, in the United States.

Finally, García Peláez reaffirmed the commitment of the Technological University of Morelia to maintain and strengthen its link with the collaborating productive units, being a fundamental pillar to enrich the students' experience and guarantee their alignment with the changing demands of the sector and the working market.
