Cancer prevention and visual acuity tests were performed

Morelia, Michoacán, November 16, 2023.- Regarding the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which will be commemorated on November 25, the Technological University of Morelia (UTM), in collaboration with the Secretariat of Salud de Michoacán (SSM) held a comprehensive and preventive health day, reaffirming its commitment to the well-being of the community.

Within this framework, 21 free Pap tests were performed, aimed at preventing cervical cancer or detecting it in its early stages. In addition, 50 clinical breast examinations and 42 mammograms were carried out, to contribute to the comprehensive care of women's health.

The promotion campaign extended its reach and women from surrounding neighborhoods such as Primo Tapia, 3 de Agosto and Satélite, were invited to benefit from these preventive actions.

In line with the university's commitment to eye health, free eye exams were announced for students, faculty, staff, family and friends. A total of 167 visual acuity studies were carried out, of which, 114 people were eligible to purchase free lenses.

These initiatives underline the continued commitment of the Technological University of Morelia to the health and well-being of the community, promoting active participation in the prevention of diseases and the promotion of healthy habits.
