They sign an agreement to strengthen the link between higher education and the productive sectors.

Morelia, Michoacán, October 5, 2023.- In a joint effort to contribute to regional development, the Technological University of Morelia (UTM) and the Economic and Social Council of Michoacán (CESMICH) formalized a collaboration agreement to strengthen the link between higher education and the productive sectors.

The agreement, signed by the rector of the UTM, Graciela C. Andrade García Peláez and the president of CESMICH, Eduardo Orihuela Estefan, seeks to generate the necessary conditions for efficient coordination, collaboration and linkage between both institutions, with a special focus on benefit of students. Collaboration will be promoted in areas such as research, talent training, strategic advice and the exchange of knowledge and resources.

The rector of the UTM, Graciela Andrade García Peláez, highlighted the importance of the link with the productive sectors, pointing out that the General Law of Higher Education establishes in 24 articles the need to establish articulation processes with companies and society in general. He highlighted the importance of education being attentive to the demands of society and contributing to satisfying its needs.

The Technological University of Morelia, known for its high degree of employability of its graduates, seeks to strengthen its commitment to the training of highly trained and competitive professionals in the labor market.

The president of the Business Coordinating Council of the State of Michoacán (CCEEM) and counselor of CESMICH, Roberto Santillán Ferreyra, attended the signing of the agreement; the director of the Miguel Bernal Jiménez Music Festival and advisor to the Economic and Social Council, Verónica Bernal Vargas; as well as other advisors and academic members of the Technological University of Morelia.
