Morelia, Michoacán, September 11, 2023.- The Technological University of Morelia (UTM) started the 2023-2024 school year this Monday with 2,035 students, of which 300 are new students. 

At the civic event, the rector Graciela C. Andrade García Peláez highlighted the institutional commitment and achievements achieved during her administration, which began on October 11, 2021, and the next day the 2022-2023 school year began, with the return to classrooms after two years of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this cycle, ambitious goals were established to improve the educational quality of UTM.

In this second cycle under his leadership, the UTM celebrates the opening of a new academic unit in Zinapécuaro, which welcomes 61 students in Biotechnology and Gastronomy majors. In addition, the inauguration of the first master's degree, in Engineering Applied to Technological Innovation, was emphasized, with the arrival of its second generation of students.

The university also welcomes 16 students for the new course of Cooperative Financial Advisor, the result of a fruitful collaboration with the Sparkassenstiftung.

The event concluded with the recognition of outstanding students who participated in international programs, who will share their enriching experiences in future conferences.

The Technological University of Morelia is looking ahead to the 2023-2024 school year with optimism, focused on achieving academic success and continuing its institutional growth. Educational excellence and the comprehensive development of its students continue to be its central commitment.
