Morelia, Michoacán, April 12, 2023.- The Technological University of Morelia (UTM) invites high school students to learn about and enroll in one of its eight majors that it offers, including a degree in Gastronomy, and engineering in Biotechnology , Textile and Fashion Design, Information Technology, Renewable Energies, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, and Higher University Technician in Food Processes.

The rector of the UTM, Graciela C. Andrade, highlighted the wide variety of career opportunities offered by Biotechnology, from public and private companies dedicated to the development of biotechnological processes, to the creation of companies in this area. It has three new laboratories dedicated to dehydration and food processing; and research, development and innovation, which will allow students to be at the forefront of the field.

The Biotechnology career will also be represented at the Mexican Science and Engineering Fair that will take place in Villa Hermosa, Tabasco in June of this year, where the project will be presented: Development of Inoculum of microorganisms that promote plant growth for the production of biofertilizers, by the students Juan Diego López Corona, Mariana Cuiniche Méndez, and Krystal de la Paz Rentería, with the advice of Isaías Negra Jiménez

The rector also highlighted the advantages of the UTM academic model, which includes intensity, relevance and quality, which guarantees that 80 percent of graduates find employment immediately after graduation.
