Morelia, Michoacán, July 15, 2022.- The rector of the Technological University of Morelia (UTM), Graciela Andrade García Peláez, celebrated the Federal Government's recognition of the work carried out by the educational institution by allocating 19 million 547 thousand 94 pesos for strengthening of physical infrastructure with three specific projects.
Andrade García Peláez explained that they participated in the Expansion Program for Higher Secondary and Higher Education U079 2022 with two projects, in this way the UTM is the only university supported in this area in Michoacán, in a process in which 186 institutions participated. and with which 14 million 931 thousand 403 pesos will be received.
It is about the strengthening of the Agrobiological laboratory, as well as the creation of a 4.0 digital ecosystem that will allow all members of the university community, students, professors, and administrative staff to have connection, even in open spaces.
On the other hand, the development of Biotechnology Engineering will be promoted, with 4 million 615 thousand 691 pesos from the Multiple Contributions Fund (FAM), to install a workshop - food transformation laboratory, with which the possibilities of knowledge are expanded. of the students regarding the industrialization of raw materials, through technological processes and food conservation that contribute to the social and economic development of Michoacán.
The rector said that with this budget achievement progress is made in improving the general conditions of the UTM for the benefit of the students and with this the possibilities to increase enrollment in higher education are improved.
