The Technological University of Morelia participates in the first national drill convened by the National Civil Protection Coordination

Morelia, Michoacán, April 19, 2023.- The Technological University of Morelia (UTM) participated in the first national drill of the year convened by the National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC) today. This drill was carried out under the hypothesis of a magnitude 7.5 earthquake with characteristics similar to the earthquakes of September 7 and 19, 2017.

The rector of the UTM, Graciela C. Anadrade, asked that the drill be carried out in the best possible way to be prepared for any emergency situation. In total, 771 members of the UTM participated, including students, academic and administrative staff. Drills were carried out in 10 different buildings, with a minimum response time of 48 seconds and a maximum of 2 minutes and 36 seconds.

32 brigade members participated in the drill, who demonstrated their skills in an emergency. A knee injury was also simulated at the medical attention point located on the esplanade of the Technological University.
