Morelia, Michoacán, September 29, 2022.- With 25 students, the Technological University of Morelia began today the master's degree in Applied Engineering in Technological Innovation, the first postgraduate program offered.

During the opening ceremony, Graciela Carmina Andrade García Peláez, rector of the UTM, congratulated the students for being encouraged to continue their professional training and to increase the statistics of professionalization in the entity.

He recalled that less than two kilometers from the UTM, an agro-industrial park will be installed; In addition, the University will have a Center for Innovation and Creativity, two important projects that will surely strengthen its educational opportunities.

He said that by instructions from the Ministry of Public Education, this Master's degree must seek registration in the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT) so that it has a school-based modality.

Selene Arroyo Guerrero, coordinator of Public Education Institutions, on behalf of the director of the Institute of Higher Secondary and Higher Education, Mariana Sosa Olmeda, recognized the work done at the UTM and the effort to continue the studies of those who graduate.

Noemi Vargas Arreola, General Director of Educational Development and Research, emphasized that with this master's degree, the Technological University of Morelia is at the forefront of postgraduate studies and recognized the importance of this master's degree today where information technologies have multiplied its relevance and value in all areas.

Paulina Solórzano Salgado, director of the Information Technology Career and coordinator of the master's program, welcomed the new students and recalled that the program includes six semesters, in which subjects such as creativity and technological innovation, digital transformation, Strategic Thinking and Cloud Computing 1, among others.
